Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

This subtle, profound healing art uses the therapeutic potential of presence, a safe and respectful relational field and the hands’ receptive touch to listen and attune at a deep level to the whole of a person. In the therapeutic context and field of sensitive support of this skilled kind of listening, the inherent intelligence of the vital potential within the client can initiate and promote healing processes and allow for a reclaiming of and reorientation to the deep ground and original health of our being. This form of therapy can support healing of very early (pre-/peri- and post-natal) and subsequent traumatic imprints and patterns, physical and emotional forms of pain, a wide range of forms of suffering, imbalances, disorientations and systemic dysfunctions (nervous, endocrine and digestive) which can afflict us. The work is deep and subtle and unfolds in relation to and in deep respect for the intelligence of the client’s own inner vital force in the timing that that intelligence determines to be safest and most conducive to true healing. (Note: 1st session must be 90-min)

Mindful Massage &/or Cupping Therapy

Address specific issues or a general body-mind renewal through a Mindful Massage session. We incorporate western & Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques. The overarching goal of a session is to encourage a healthy circulation of blood and energy with a calm mind toward improved functioning, feeling and well-being for mental, emotional and physical health.

Cupping is a highly effective treatment in the Traditional Chinese Medicine toolbox. While massage is performed by applying pressure, cupping is it’s inverse, using negative pressure to lift, open and expand soft tissues for circulation through channels and points. A potent therapy for many issues and conditions.

Acupuncture Plus

Enhancing the body’s ability to heal itself, acupuncture is a valuable standalone or complementary treatment to conventional medical treatment of almost any condition. Minimally invasive, it stimulates the nervous system & connective tissue in ways that no other intervention can. As needed, a session includes therapies such as Chinese or craniosacral bodywork, cupping, moxibustion, infrared light, guasha & Chinese herbs. (Note: Please allow up to 75 minutes for a full session. These sessions are held at East West Healing Arts Institute in Shorewood.)

Therapeutic Sound

Available October 2022

The resonance of sound through not just the ears but the whole body can be deeply relaxing and remarkably revitalizing. In a relaxed state that is comfortably held in a bath of tones and sound textures, seemingly unreachable corners in us can be acknowledged, soothed and shifted toward a neutral, healthy state. This place of conscious relaxation paired with sound vibration, spacious rhythms, harmony and dissonance, allows for a felt sense of rejuvenation and renewal.

Craniosacral Therapy

Available October 2022

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) as taught by the Upledger Institute is one of two variations of craniosacral therapies offered at Big Heart. CST is a light touch, whole body treatment that supports and nourishes the central nervous system. By normalizing the environment around the brain & spinal cord and enhancing the body's ability to self-correct, it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction including musckuloskeletal, headaches & migraines, jaw pain, among others. CST aids coping mechanisms to allow for better management of stress, improves overall well-being, bolsters resistance to disease and produces profound, positive changes.

Big Hearts Healing and its therapists are absolutely amazing! Every time I go there, I leave feeling lighter! Going there is like being enveloped in a huge long hug. It’s warm, inviting, beautiful and inspiring. Plus, the therapies I have received have been extremely beneficial. I couldn’t recommend Big Hearts' healing more!
